Rick Stout
plays Second Trombone with The Cleveland Orchestra, as well as
performing on the the bass trumpet and euphonium in the orchestra.
Prior to joining Cleveland, Mr. Stout served as Second Trombone, and
later as Principal Trombone, with the Jacksonville Symphony in Florida.
While in Jacksonville, Mr. Stout founded the Atelier Ensemble, a
chamber music group with a museum concert series, for which he served
as the Artistic Coordinator. During the summers while with
Jacksonville, Rick performed and taught at the Eastern Music Festival
in Greensboro, North Carolina. Other positions he has held include the
Principal Trombone positions with the New Haven Symphony and the North
Carolina Symphony. Mr. Stout performs frequently as a recitalist and
chamber musician, and has made numerous concerto appearances with
orchestras. Rick received his training at The Curtis Institute of
Music, where he studied with Glenn Dodson, and is on the faculty of the
Cleveland Institutue of Music.
