Dave Trigg's
first steady engagement after college was to play lead with the
Ringling Brother's Show Band in Florida. From there he went on the
Nat'l touring company of "Holiday On Ice", then on to play 2 tours with
Maynard Ferguson, recording M.F.'S 1981 release " Hollywood." After
playing lead on the 1982 Woody Herman summer tour, Dave returned home
to Florida to begin full time with the bands at Disney, Epcot and MGM
for the next 10 years. Some credits include Henry Mancini, Tony
Bennett, Rosemary Clooney and Mel Torme. Donna Summer, Chaka Khan,
Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, David Foster and Frank
Sinatra.
In 1992,
Dave joined Natalie Cole's band, relocating to L.A. to play full time
for her. While touring the world with Ms. Cole, Dave has performed with
many major orchestras such as, the BBC Symphony, Susse-Roman Orchestra,
Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Boston Pops and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Dave has recorded four Grammy-winning albums with Natalie, and has
recorded for the P.B.S. television series, "Great Performances."
T.V. credits
include Arsenio Hall, David Letterman, The Tonite Show, 1994 Grammy
Awards, Rosie O'Donnell, Oprah, N.B.C. Today Show, The three Sopranos
live T.V. concert, and Shelila E's house band for the 1998 ALMA Award.
Dave has also recorded for Dr. John, Alan Broadbent, Bobby Caldwell,
Phil Collins, Mary J. Blidge, Don Lamond, etc. Some motion picture
credits include, "Miracle on 34th St.", Private Parts", "Shaft", etc.
While living in L.A., Dave played regularly with the Big Bands of Bill
Holman, Bob Florence, Capp/Pierce Juggernaut, Med Flory, Roger Neumann,
Bill Watrous and Robe McConnells, "West Coast Brass." He can also be
heard on many jingles for radio and T.V.
After moving
to New York in 1999, Dave continued traveling to perform at jazz. Fest
such as Montreaux, North Sea, Newport, JVC London and Antibe, and was
featured soloist at the New York Brass Conference's homage to Maynard
Ferguson. In 2001, he was 1st. Trpt. On the VII-I "Diva Awards." Dave
also played T.V. Tributes to Brian Wilson and Patti LaBelle, and
appeared as a guest artist at the Salt Lake City Jazz Festival. Most
recently he performed at a Gala celebration with the National Symphony
Orchestra, and has been invited to play for the N.Y.
Brass Conference's upcoming 2002 Tribute to Bill
Chase.
